Showing Boldness and Faithfulness

My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, All that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. According to Bible scholars, Peter's first letter addressed the Christians dispersed in “Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,” an area north of the Taurus Mountains in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey). This area was under Roman rule and Christians faced persecution. Peter encouraged the Christians to not be afraid and remain faithful. Today we face the same persecution as the early Christians. If we “revere Christ as Lord” in our hearts, and make the decision to honor Him, He will help us to be bold and to overcome our fears in the midst of opposition, as done in Peter's time.
