Patience Creates Character

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "Waiting in Anticipation" The scripture is from Psalm 130:1–6 with key verse being "I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning." Psalm 130:6. Lisa Samra wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. What I take from this passage is that God works in His time. There are many times we face a crisis, and we want God to intervene now. However, we find that God sometimes waits to answer a prayer. "Waiting on the Lord” takes discipline and develops perseverance in our faith that only steadfastness can yield. We pray for our daughter's full recovery. Every day we pray the same prayer, but God has not answered our prayer. Maybe He is testing and strengthening our faith and perseverance.
