From Spiritual Darkness to Spiritual Light

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "A Blind Man’s Plea" The scripture is from Luke 18:35–43 with key verse being "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Luke 18:38. Arthur Jackson wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. The story of this blind beggar, Bartimaeus (from the book of Mark) reminds me of the range of God's mercy and love. Bartimaeus was a beggar, poor, and destitute and Zacchaeus, a wealthy public servant. Both men went to extremes to see Jesus. Jesus showed mercy and grace to both. He gave Bartimaeus his sight and salvation to Zacchaeus' house. Both brought from spiritual darkness to light.
