A Humble Servant

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries. Today's devotion is titled "Humble Love". The scripture is from Philippians 2:1–11 with key verse being "The greatest among you will be your servant" Matthew 23:11. James Banks wrote this devotion. My brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words. He is the sole source of my writing. All the credit goes to God, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I often label myself a public and proud and humble servant of God and Christ. I need to leave proud out. Jesus is the perfect example. Jesus demonstrated the greatest humility of all. Though eternally with the Father, He chose to bend beneath a cross in love so that through His death He might lift any who receive Him into the joy of His presence. We imitate Jesus's humility when we seek to serve our heavenly Father by serving others.
