I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “For Our Friends” The scripture is from John 15:5–17 with the key verse, “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you” John 15:12. Monica Brands wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. This passage always makes me feel good and relates to another source I am reading about the life of Christ. Christ is the source of our love for others. We can love no one without drawing love from Him. If Christ is not the source of our love, He does not abide in us. Then, we are just self-righteous people and condemn. Jesus invites everyone into the Family of God, to love and be loved, and as we pour into others Christ’s unimaginable love, the world will catch a glimpse of Him.
Lord, thank You for showing us what it means to love. Help us to love like You.
God bless you to join the Family of God.
