I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “The Prayer and the Chain Saw” The scripture is from Nehemiah 1 with the key verse, “Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant.” Nehemiah 1:11. Linda Washington wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. When I read the story of a seventy-six-year-old woman using a chainsaw to cut down a tree, my heart skipped a beat. What courage, I still think "Ill-advised." However she modeled before we do anything, we "pray over it." I pray when I get up and start my day. I pray before I start teaching my class, and I pray for all the teachers at my school. Make prayer a first priority, instead of the last resort.

Father, Your Holy Spirit reminds us to pray first. Today, we commit to doing so as Your Spirit prompts us.

May God bless and prompt you to pray first.
