I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Your Way, Not Mine” The scripture is from Luke 22:39–46 with the key verse, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5. James Banks wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. This devotion brings out an issue that I am hesitant to share. Our daughter attempted suicide. Her twin brother discovered her hanging in the upstairs bathroom. Our son started CPR immediately while Mom called the paramedics. They were able to get a pulse, and she was breathing. She was rushed to emergency. We were told that there was too much brain damage and there was no chance she will ever have a meaningful recovery. The news was devastating. We prayed and left her in God's hands. That was twelve years ago. She has not made a full recovery, but every day she is improving. We continue to pray for her full recovery in spite of what doctors say. Jesus showed us how to trust our God in every need.
We want to be “all in” for You, Father. We trust in Your unfailing love and give ourselves and our daughter to You as Your servants today.
May God bless you.
