I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Agreeing to Disagree” The scripture is from Romans 14:1–13 with the key verse, “Let us, therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace. ” Romans 14:19. Mart DeHaan wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He lead me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. Our world was no different than The Apostle Paul's world. In this passage he instructs the church in Rome caught in social, political, and religious conflict on how to handle it. He said to find some common ground and agree to disagree. It is better because one day everyone will answer to the Lord not only for our opinions but also for how we treat one another in our differences. We will answer whether we have loved one another, and even our enemies, as Christ loved us. We can agree to disagree—in love.
May God bless you and The Holy Spirit move you to disagree in love.
