I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “From Shame to Honor” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Luke 1:18–25 with the key verse, “[The Lord] has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people” Luke 1:25. Poh Fang Chia wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. It’s that time of the year again, when families gather to celebrate the Christmas season. For some family members, it is not so festive. Some of us, however, dread meeting certain relatives whose questions can make those who are still single, childless or not as successful feel that there’s something wrong with them. Elizabeth in 1 Samuel felt this way. She was childless. In her culture, that was disgraceful, and everyone felt she was not in God's favor. She and her husband served God faithfully through the years. Later, in her old age (childless age) her prayers were answered. She bore "John The Baptist" who was the forerunner to Jesus our Savior. This tells us that with God, nothing is impossible, and He chooses the perfect time to answer prayers. Keep serving Him faithfully and wait. No matter our circumstances, God is working in and through us. He knows our hearts, and hears your prayers.

God, you are forever faithful and good. Help us to keep trusting in You, even when we experience heartache.

May God bless you and keep living for Him faithfully and waiting patiently for His plan.
