I start every morning and evening with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. “Following the Leader” is the title of today’s devotion. The scripture is from Luke 9:21–24 with the key verse, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” Luke 9:23. Patricia Raybon wrote this devotion. My beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. What I observe, the closer we are to Christmas, the more intense are the teachings about Christ. This devotion is centered on following Christ. We have a great chance to show the world what is involved with being a Christian. In this text we deny our self-gratification and pick up spiritual burdens daily by serving others first instead of ourselves. When we follow His lead and staying so close, we can appear with Christ as one.

Please, God, draw us close to You. Fill us with Your Spirit of love and joy and peace. Enable us to be a shining light in our world

My God bless, and may you be a shining light in our world.
