How Do You View God's Word?

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Truth: Bitter or Sweet?” The scripture is from Ezekiel 2:4–3:3 with the key verse, " So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth", Ezekiel 3:3. Kirsten Holmberg wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. God ordered his prophet Ezekiel to swallow a bitter pill, a scroll containing words of lament and woe. God ordered the Apostle John, who was exiled to the island of Patmos to swallow a scroll that was bitter judgment and untold suffering for God’s people. For the Apostle John the scroll soured in his stomach. For he prophet Ezekiel God's scroll tasted as sweet as honey. Ezekiel recognized that what is good for the soul is “sweet.” God instructs and corrects us with lovingkindness, helping us live in a way that honors and pleases Him. Do not accept God's words or disciple as a bitter pill. Consider His words and instruction a honey for the soul. Reflect: What truth has God shown you recently? Did you receive it as a bitter pill or sweet honey? Prayer: God, Your truth is sweet.

May God bless you and treat his words and instruction as honey for your soul.
