Do

I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “Do the Next Thing” The scripture is from John 14:15–21 with the key verse, " If you love me, keep my commands" John 14:15. Ruth O’Reilly-Smith wrote this devotion. My brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. Many times I felt compelled to help someone, only to let the moment pass without a response. I felt guilty about letting the chance slip away. This is one area I will work to improve. I trust the Spirit to motivate me to do by faith what will honor God and reveal my love for Him and others. Reflect: Why is it important for you to follow through on promptings that line up with Scripture? How can you seek to live a more obedient life by the power of the Holy Spirit? Prayer: The Holy Spirit provides what we need to follow Jesus in obedience. May God bless you and the Holy Spirit provide you with what you need to follow Jesus in obedience.
