I start every morning with coffee and God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread Ministries, https://odb.org. Today’s devotion is titled “The Older Brother” The scripture is from Luke 15:11–13; 17–24 with the key verse, "[They] muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them” Luke 15:2. Mart DeHaan wrote this devotion. My beloved children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I pray first to God to guide my words, so that it may serve as spiritual food and guidance. I want God to be the sole source of my writing, so all the credit goes to Him, not to me. I am only his humble servant. I thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as a base for comments. The parable, "The Prodigal son" is one of many examples of Jesus' describing the Kingdom of Heaven. The central theme is you have to repent and believe to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and the joy and celebration that takes place when anyone repents and ask Christ into their hearts. I remember, before I became a Christian how much of my life (32 years) was wasted and the bad decisions I made. Looking back, I was just like the prodigal son. I am so glad I saw my errors and asked for forgiveness. Don't do as I, and do not waste another second. Repent and believe because God is waiting to throw a huge reception party for you in Heaven. Reflect: How might you reflect again on the story Jesus told. Where do you find yourself? Prayer: Father, help us to see ourselves for how much You love us. May God bless you and help you see how much God loves you.
