Learning from Little Ones
I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Learning from Little Ones.” Arthur Jackson wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Matthew 21:8–16 with the key verse, “From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise.”, Matthew 21:16. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all that I write, I first pray to God to guide my words so that it will serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of wiring. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
Before I knew Christ, I loved children. They are innocent, loving, and trusting. One of my goals was to marry and have children.
When I became a Christian, I prayed that God would put me on the battle lines where the fighting is most fierce. God answered my prayers. He opened to door for me to be a teacher. My duties did not stop there. I became an AWANA Commander, Sunday School Superintendent. Jesus loved children and never missed an opportunity to bless them. Children loved their parents, teachers, and spiritual leaders because they knew these people loved, and cared for them. As Jesus arrived in Jerusalem riding on a donkey, joyful children were among those who celebrated Him.
We can learn from the faith of children of God of all ages and places who recognize Jesus as the Savior of the world. He’s the One who hears our praises and cries, and He cares for and rescues us when we come to Him with childlike trust.
Reflect:
How have your views of Jesus changed over the years? What things get in the way of seeing Him as the Son of God who has come to save you?
Prayer:
Jesus, help me to see You for who You are—my Lord and Savior.
May God bless you and help you to see Jesus for who He is—your Lord and Savior.
