Look Up!
I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Look Up!” Patricia Raybon wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Psalm 8:3–4, Revelation 21:22–25 with the key verse, “There will be no night there,” Revelation 21:25. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
I am interested in astronomy, I named two stars after my first two daughters, and I have a star watching APP on my IPAD.
When I praise God’s glory, I am overwhelmed and emotional. As I look at God’s heavenly lights as David, I have a new perspective. I realize how small I compare myself to God’s creations. We are created a little lower than the angels and powerful servants of God. We have the task of looking after the planet.
One day, God will create a New Heaven and a New Earth. In the New City, there is no need of the sun or moon. God’s glory gives light to the new city. “23. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates never be shut for there will be no night there” (Revelation 21:23–25).
Reflect:
What does God’s heavenly light teach you about Him? When you praise the glory of God, what do you experience?
Prayer:
Our wondrous God, I am awed by Your holy glory, and I praise You for Your marvelous Light.
My Prayer for You:
May God bless you and be awed by His holy glory and praise Him for His marvelous light.
