Light in the Dark

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today's devotion is titled "Light in the Dark" Xochitl Dixon wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is Psalm 18:28–36, Psalm 18:46–49 with the key verse, "You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.", Psalm 18:28. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

When problems come one after another, I panic. I forget what to do or how to solve the issues. What do I do? I make a quick decision without God.

David faced many dark times and spent them running and hiding from his enemies. During one of his darkest hours, He proclaimed that God kept his lamp burning. (Psalm18:28). He had faith in the Lord's provision and protection (vv. 29–30). With God's strength, he could handle anything that came his way (vv. 32–35). David promised to praise God among the nations and sing praises of His name (vv. 36–49).

Like David, we have the peace of God's constant presence to light our way through the darkness. Our living God is our strength, refuge, sustainer, and deliverer.

Reflect:

What verses help you trust God's constant presence? How can relying on God's sovereign goodness help you walk through storms with confident faith?

Prayer:

Father, please help me trust Your goodness and love even when I sometimes cannot see You in life's dark circumstances.

My Prayer for You:

May God bless you and trust His goodness and love even when you sometimes cannot see Him in life's dark circumstances.
