On the Bubble
I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “On the Bubble.” Ruth O’Reilly-Smith wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is 1 Peter 2:4–10 with the key verse, “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you . into his wonderful light”, 1 Peter 2:9. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ, for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
After you become a Christian does not mean you will never have life storms. I had no doubt about my final resting place, but I had concerns about my life on Earth. My job history was like a roller coaster. I wondered where God was. I felt I was “on the bubble” when it came to God’s help.
I decided to be still and look at my situation. Every time a door closed, another job opened up. I discovered that through God, I learned a lot of skills, from supervising a laundry facility, injection molding factory, transportation, selling furniture, making floppy disk, and teaching. From that point of view, God was taking me on adventures of learning. Now I am in education, which is the biggest and most rewarding adventure. I wake up every day, ready for another adventure with God.
Reflect:
In what areas of life have you found yourself “on the bubble” and struggling with uncertainty? What can you do to regain your confidence in Jesus?
Prayer:
Father God, when disappointments threaten to undermine my identity as Your child, remind me to put my hope and confidence in You alone.
My Prayer for You:
May God bless and remind you to put your hope and confidence in God alone.
