Bright Spots in Bleak Places

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Bright Spots in Bleak Places.” Alyson Kieda wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Psalm 86:1–13; with the key verse, “You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.”, Psalm 86:5. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

God has delivered me out a lot of difficult circumstances. He does the same to everyone who has an undivided heart. God sends a visual, an encouraging word or note from a friend, maybe a comforting verse or Bible passage, or a beautiful sunrise or sunset. Whatever his response is, you know it is meant for you.

Reflect:

Out of what difficult place has God delivered you? During that time, did you experience any “sunflowers” that helped you persevere?

Prayer:

Loving God, thank You for being compassionate and gracious. Help me to remember how You have been faithful and answered my prayers in the past—and will again in the future.

My Prayer for You:

May God bless and answered your prayers in the past and the future.
