No Fishing Allowed

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “No Fishing Allowed.” Amy Boucher Pye wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Psalm 130; with the key verse, “God will] hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.”, Micah 7:19. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

I believe that all Christians remember a sin that we can not let go. I know I do. When we are caught in feelings of shame and unworthiness, we cannot serve God with our whole hearts. Instead, our past restricts us. We must let go of all our past sins so that nothing hinders us from serving our Lord and Savior.

When you feel hindered by the wrongs you have done, ask God to help you wholeheartedly believe in His gift of forgiveness and new life. God cast our sins in a proverbial part of the sea, and posted a sign saying, “No fishing allowed.”

Reflect:

Are you holding on to the false belief that God can’t possibly forgive you for some sin in your life? God wants you to allow His forgiveness to set you free!

Prayer:

Forgiving God, You sent Your Son Jesus to save me from my sins and shame. Please help me to live in the freedom of being fully forgiven.

My Prayer for You:

May God bless and help you to live in the freedom of being fully forgiven.
