I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “God Our Rescuer” Patricia Raybon wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Ezekiel 34:5–12; with the key verse, “I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered.”, Ezekiel 34:12. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
During my time in the navy, we went through storms that cause our ship to pitch and roll. You held on to “ropes” or anything secure at your duty station, so you did not stumble or fall.
Life is like being on a ship in a storm. This time life’s crises give you a rocky ride. You panic when you feel that you are slipping or falling. Instead of panicking, turn to God. Hold fast to almighty God and His promises. “I will search for my sheep and look after them,” Ezekiel 34:11 NIT.
Reflect:
When you feel panicked, what’s your typical reaction? What problem can you release today as you reach instead for God?
Prayer:
Our rescuing God, when life makes me panic, encourage me to turn from the rolling waves, and always reach for You.
My Prayer for You:
When life makes you panic, I pray that you always reach out to God.
