Suffering Together
I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today's devotion is titled "Suffering Together." James Banks wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from 1 Corinthians 12:14–26; with the key verse, "If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.", 1 Corinthians 12:26. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.
Even as Christians, everyone feels lonely at times. Life gets you down, and you feel alone in a dark place. Remember what the Apostle Paul said to the believers at Corinth; we are all part of Christ's body. God creates a new community that suffers together. A new community where no one should be left in the dark. "If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.", 1 Corinthians 12:26.Reflect:When have you felt most alone? How do God's grace, kindness, and friendship help you deal with loneliness?Prayer:Is it true, God? Have You really placed me in a new community that knows and loves me in my suffering? Help me to believe this.
