Speak Up!

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Speak Up!” Arthur Jackson wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Colossians 4:2–6; with the key verse, “Pray . . . that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ!”, Colossians 4:3. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

I shared the love of Jesus with a woman coworker. I prompted me to ask how she was doing. The flood gates opened, and she talked about all the issues that she was going through. She felt frustrated and depressed. Unrehearsed, I started to share the love of Jesus with her.

I prayed for opportunities to speak boldly and clearly for Jesus. However, I did not think it would happen. It was uncomfortable, but I believe I changed her life.

Reflect:

When did you share the love of Jesus with someone even though it was unexpected and uncomfortable? What role does prayer play in our preparation to boldly speak up for Him?

Prayer:

Jesus, help me see opportunities and step through the doors You open to speak boldly and clearly about You!

My Prayer for You:

I pray that Jesus will help you to see opportunities to speak boldly and clearly about Him.
