Compassion on the Job

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Compassion on the Job.” Jennifer Benson Schuldt wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Matthew 14:1–14; with the key verse, “[Jesus] had compassion on them and healed their sick.”, Matthew 14:14. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

The training I had made me duty-bound and mission-oriented. I was not a child of God, so I was duty-bound to carry out assignments. Then, I would disappear off the grid.

As a Christian, I experience God’s compassion and care. I have a new mission to show God’s love when I carry out my daily responsibilities. I am duty-bounded to witness through my actions and words. May God help us to recognize His compassion in our lives and pass it on to others.

Reflect:

How have you experienced God’s compassion and care? What prevents you from showing God’s love when you carry out your daily responsibilities?

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, thank You for meeting my spiritual and physical needs. Help my thankfulness to overflow in the world so that I can glorify You through caring for other people.

My Prayer for You:

I pray that your thankfulness to Jesus meeting your spiritual and physical needs will lead you to care for other people.
