The End of Our Story

I start every morning with coffee with God through daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Begin with the End.” Glenn Packiam wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Philippians 1:3–11, with the key verse, “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6. My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. I thank God that He led to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments.

My Christian friends, I do not know when my story will end. I know it will not end until I complete God’s work that he has started with me. I trust Jesus will take the “pen” from my hand and bring my story to completion.

Jesus started the work, and He will complete it. The word completion is particularly important because the story does not just end. God leaves nothing unfinished.

Reflect:

Where are you in your story? How can you trust Jesus to take the “pen” from your hand and bring your story to completion?

Prayer:

Dear Jesus, You’re in charge of my story. It’s not up to me to make it happen. I surrender my life to You. Help me to trust You.

My Prayer for You:

I pray that God takes charge of your story.
