A Moment of Rest

I start every day with God, reading daily devotions from Our Daily Bread. Today’s devotion is titled “Look for the Green.” Elisa Morgan wrote this devotion. The scripture reading is from Psalm 23 with the key verse, “The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.” Psalm 23:1.
My beloved children, grandchildren, cousins, nephews, brothers, and sisters in Christ; for all I write, I first pray to God to guide my words to serve as spiritual food and guidance. I desire God to be my sole source of writing. All the credit goes to God, not me. I am his humble servant. Thank God that He led me to use Our Daily Bread Ministries as my inspiration for comments and witness.
With all the political turmoil and the pandemic out of control, we need to take a “time out.”
The way that I take time out is to go outside and stare at nature. The beautiful scenery of trees and grass blessed my wife and me. Outside I let my mind focus on God and His creation; the smell of morning dew, the sounds of birds chirping and watching a sunrise. Also, I focus on God’s word and send inspirational texts to my family and friends.
Reflect:
Where can you look for the green today? In what ways has God provided a moment of rest when you thought it was impossible?
Prayer:
Loving God, thank You for being my Shepherd and for making me lie down in green pastures to refresh my soul.
My Prayer for Us:
Loving God, thank You for being our Shepherd and for making us lie down in green pastures to refresh our souls.
